Greetings! You've reached the online home of Marla Erwin, a professional web, print and interface designer in Austin, Texas. My areas of expertise include visual design, advanced CSS & XHTML, usability, and accessibility. I am currently (since Feb 08) Interactive Art Director at Whole Foods Market.
I majored in psychology at Texas Tech, went to graduate school at The New School for Social Research, and came back to Texas to study design at The University of Texas at Austin. After school I moved to Seattle, where I worked and played for the one and only Archie McPhee & Co.
Six rainy winters later, I returned to Austin. After a couple of unexpectedly short-term jobs (how does a company with $60 million in November go bankrupt in July?), I gave up the dot-com rollercoaster for an Austin web design company of my own, 10 Sharp Design.
In addition to my design work, I'm an evangelist for web standards and accessibility, and I speak occasionally at conferences in Austin and elsewhere. Recently at: AccessU, Austin, Texas.
